What's New?!

Express Check-in

We are making some changes to our check-in system, which we hope will make things easier for everyone. However, we expect the biggest difference in our Cumberland Below the Falls rafting trip. For any of our trips, you may stop by up to the day before your trip to fill out and turn in your release forms (please remember that each person must do their own release form). On busy Cumberland rafting days, we will also have a special "payment" line set up the day of the trip for those customers that are paid in full, . So, if you have already paid in full and have turned in your forms, all you have to do is let us know that you are here! Our hope is that this will make the check-in process go much faster for everyone. The release forms are available on our website. A link to the form for your specific trip will be emailed to you when you make your deposit.

Free Wi-Fi Now Available!

We now have Wi-Fi available here at our adventure center. Coverage currently includes the reservation building, White Dog snack bar, front parking lots, and campsites #6, 7, and 8. It does not currently reach over to the Camp-inns (too much building in the way) or the backcountry sites, but we are working on expanding the reach. Wi-fi is free, but not not completely 'open', so just see one of the reservationists for details!

Camping and Cabins Expansion

It's been a long time coming, but we will be breaking ground this Spring on a major (for us) expansion of our lodging facilities. It will be phased in over the next number of years, but we will eventually have RV camping, drive-in campsites, "couple" cabins (designed for 2-4 people), as well as full-sized cabins. Stay tuned!!

Updates:

April 20th, 2010: We have the front acreage cleaned up and out. It is looking nice! The old barn has been taken down, and I think that the stand of mature trees where it was would make a nice place for a playground and picnic pavilion. The renters have moved out of the house and we are starting today to do some major renovations to the inside and outside of that to make it into a rental cabin. It will be 3 BR; 1.5 bath, and sleeps 10-12. We are hoping to have it available by July. Still working on the layout for the campground itself.

April 28th, 2010: Layout of Cabin #1 The gutting of the house is complete and the builders should start Monday to start moving walls, updating the electric and plumbing, etc. Here is a dollhouse view of the new layout. I plan to start planting flags this week for the campground layout. Still trying to figure out the best way to handle all the septic needs.

May 18, 2010: Layout for the campground is done. It will have

July 8th, 2010: The dozer guy is just about done cleaning out the space where the couple cabins will go, so I should be able to start planning on exactly where the roads and cabins are going to go once I free up some time from the office. We won't be able to start putting in the roads and campsite spaces until Frankfort approves the septic and water plan, so at this point, we are assuming that the campground will not be open until 2011.

July 20, 2010: We are getting close to having the inside of the cabin done. The kitchen cabinets are in, and the the builders should be laying the tile for the bathrooms tomorrow. All the trim work is up, but the walls and trim still need to be varnished. I still need to get appliances for the kitchen, but I think that by Monday I should be able to start getting some good pictures of the inside of the house! They were putting up the underside of the wrap-around porch today. A couple of outside fans, the railings, and stairs/ramp still to go on that.
