Rail Bike Trips

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Rail Bikes will not be running through the rest of 2020. We hope to bring this excursion back in 2021.
Ride the rails in this new and exciting way to experience the mountains! Pedal along the tracks through the forest and along creeks, hear the birds singing, and the water rushing through the streams as you enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest.

We offer three different versions of our Rail Bike trip.  All trips meet at Blue Heron Train Depot at the Blue Heron Mining Camp.  Barthell trips head along the rails to Barthell Mining Camp, the first mining camp opened by Sterns Coal and Lumber and dates all the way back to 1902. Barthell has several reconstructed building, old artifacts and memorabilia dating back to when it was an active town, a gift shop, and a snack bar.  There is also an easier tour that stays alongside the river for scenic, but more relaxed tour.
