Blue Heron to Yamacraw
• About 2 - 2.5 hours on-water time
• Morning trip (meets at 9am) • No experience required • Recommended ages for most water levels: 3 and up This 4.8 mile long section of river is characterized by large boulders and high cliff lines. Rapids alternate with deep pools, providing plenty of places to fish, picnic, swim and explore. This section does have Class I, borderline Class II rapids. Please contact us if you have questions regarding whether this trip is recommended for your specific group. LessΔ Yamacraw to Alum Ford
• About 3.5-4 hours on-water time
• Morning trip (meets at 8am) • Some experience recommended later season. • Recommended age for early season levels: No restrictions. Recommended age for later season levels: 8 and up Similar to the Blue Heron to Yamacraw trip, this 7.4 mile long section of river is characterized by large boulders and high cliff lines. However, the shoreline is steeper and there are fewer places to get out and explore. A notable exception is Lick Creek, where you can hike up to Princess Falls. Early in the season, Lake Cumberland covers most or all of this section, so the section is deep flatwater. Later in the season, the lake drops and rapids alternate with deep pools, providing plenty of places to fish, and swim. This section can have several more difficult rapids (borderline Class II) as well as Duck Rock - a Class II rapid, depending on lake level.LessΔ |
