The trip starts and ends at the Blue Heron Mine interpretive area in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.
The 1½ - 2 hour trip covers about a mile of river and includes several Class I and one Class II rapid (Joe Shoals).
The Blue Heron Mine interpretive area is a partially restored mining town with a self-paced walking tour.
Doing the tour either before or after the tube trip makes for a very pleasant afternoon.

Laze your way down the Cumberland River, shooting through narrow tubes and enjoying the underwater rock formations.
This tube trip floats the section of river starting behind Cumberland Regional Mall; the take-out is 1 mile down at Williamsburg Boat Ramp.
The 1.5 - 2 hour trip covers approximately 1 mile of river. The trip meets directly behind Cumberland Regional Mall.
The driver will put you on the river to start your trip, and pick you up at the take-out. From the take-out point we will shuttle you back up to Cumberland Regional Mall to your vehicle.
Have at least 15 people? Want to take the trip on a day not available above? Tubing trips for groups can be run daily April-October. Though summer is recommended.
